Snoring is becoming a national issue for the American community today, how do I know this? I know this by the numerous complaint of people that flood my office on daily basis every day. The problem is not about the snorer themselves but the problem is with the unpleasant grunts they make during the night which makes their sleeping partner uncomfortable in most cases.
Since the snorers don’t usually own up on their own mistake, it is not surprising that the people who flood my office with complaints are their sleeping partners looking for ways to stop Johnny or Sandra from snoring too deeply and disturbing their own peaceful sleep. The snorers themselves sometimes in a way can be the cause of their own problem only that they don’t realize it and at other times it could be as a result of subconscious reaction their bodies make when they sleep.
In other words, the snorer is unlikely to know that when he sleeps so gently and peacefully, he snores so badly that he could make his sleeping partner jump out of their dream fantasies, what a jerk! Snoring is caused by a host of many factors and one of the common ways of which it is caused is by how a person lives at times, that is how the person lives his lifestyle. Drinking too many relaxants like alcohol, which is the most common and taking relaxant drugs which may be administered through smoking and inhalation is likely to cause a person to snore deeply during the night rest.
The other factors like the snorer sleeping position on the bed and even the medication which the person is likely to be on could cause the person to snore deeply as well. Sometimes when a person has serious cases of cold and catarrh it can make the person snore as well as people who have other sinus or nasal congestion is likely to snore loud during their sleep. Stress which is one of the leading health concern today in the American society can be a causation for a person to snore and age also plays a factor in this as well.
It has been noticed that snoring affects people of all ages ranging from children, the teens, the young adults, the adults and the elderly who are more likely to snore as a result of their years and their snore worsens as the age goes by. Snoring is mostly caused by the narrowing of the windpipe or air passage of which a person breathes through when he sleeps. This is what happens, when a person sleeps at night due to his sleeping position or the alcohol he may take or any other factor, the tongue of the person would fall backwards in the person's mouth blocking the person’s throat from getting enough air passing through the air pipes as the person breathes in or out.
